The magic of the FA Cup was in the air on Merseyside this week, as a selection of awestruck customers got the chance to pose with the official trophy in our Liverpool store.
Football fans from around the globe were present in Queens Square – just days ahead of the Reds’ crunch game with Manchester United in the pick of the fourth round ties at Anfield.
This once in a lifetime opportunity also marked the launch of the official FA Cup replica ball from Umbro, available to buy now both in-store and online as the excitement around this year’s competition continues to grow.

The city was on a high this week as locals celebrated Liverpool’s Carling Cup semi-final victory over Manchester City. And the sight of the world’s oldest and most famous football trophy led fans to dream of a second trip to Wembley come May.
Flocks of supporters from Ireland, Norway, Germany and even Australia were on hand to check out the trophy, many stopping by before returning home with a special memento from their travels.
It’s safe to say that the allure of the cup captured the imagination of everyone who attended – although some refused to believe what they were seeing!
Thankfully, the Football Association were represented with their official guards protecting the precious silverware (insured for around £1.5 million!) and treating the sceptics to a history lesson or two! The cup actually spends 200 days a year touring, attending various events across the country and 60 days a year traveling the world.
Punters could even see the damage caused by Carlos Tevez after last year’s final, when the Argentine dropped the trophy during City’s post-match celebrations!
